Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager who, despite his young age, made a significant impact on the Catholic faith and is set to be canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church. Born on May 3, 1991, in London, Carlo moved with his family to Italy at a young age. From a very early age, Carlo exhibited a deep love for the Eucharist and the Catholic faith, often attending daily Mass and praying the Rosary. His devotion to the Eucharist and his technological talents led him to combine both passions, creating a website to catalog and document Eucharistic miracles from around the world. This website, "Miracles of the Eucharist," has become a valuable resource for promoting faith and devotion to the Eucharist.
Carlo loved computers and technology. He understood the power that the internet and social media had on the world. He used these tools to spread the message of Christ and share his love for the Catholic faith, especially with his peers.
Because of his work and his commitment to using modern technology for the greater glory of God, Carlo was posthumously given the nickname "God's Influencer." In an era where social media influencers often use their platforms to promote superficial or materialistic values, Carlo used his influence to bring people closer to Christ and promote spiritual growth. His website on Eucharistic miracles, for example, became a powerful tool for evangelization, spreading the beauty of Catholic tradition and faith to a global audience.
Carlo Acutis was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006, and despite his illness, he remained focused on his love for God and his desire to help others. He passed away on October 12, 2006, at the age of 15, but his legacy has only grown since his death. His Canonization is set to be April 27, 2025.
